Are Property Sales increasing in Manchester

So, the question everyone is asking; Are property sales increasing in Manchester? The good news is, yes. Townhouse’s Sales Manager Will says, “People are moving again, it’s great to see. Lettings have always been busy but sales are now getting to a similar level. At the moment sellers can get a good price for their property and a combination of increased lending from banks and the government back help to buy scheme has meant there are a lot more buyers now in the market.”

Activity levels are backed up by recent figures and stats released in the media. According to research undertaken by Nationwide, UK house prices rose by 0.7% in January and were 8.8% higher than they were back in January 2013. This figure represents the fastest year on year increase in house prices since May 2010.

Property site Rightmove found that interest in properties is currently at a record high and the number of property pages viewed on their site increased by 20% in the first two weeks of 2014.

In further signs that the housing market is set to strengthen further in 2014, the number of potential home buyers registering with mortgage providers across the country surged by 17.1 per cent in February, which is the biggest monthly increase in seven years.
